How to Choose the Right Cot Bed Mattress

Before purchasing a new mattress, check the dimensions and specifications of your cot bed. Although 140 x 70 cm is a common cot bed mattress size, you should always confirm the size required by your particular model.

When choosing your mattress, consider:

• Correct dimensions: Make sure the mattress is designed for your cot bed.
• Firmness and support: Choose a mattress intended for babies and young children.
• Product specifications: Read the listing for materials, cover details and care instructions.
• Compatibility: Check the cot bed manufacturer's guidance if you're unsure which mattress to use.
• Mattress protection: Consider adding a fitted protector to help keep your mattress clean.

For your baby's sleep, always use a firm, flat mattress that fits snugly within the cot bed and follow current NHS safer sleep guidance.

Why Use a Cot Bed Mattress Protector?

A mattress protector is a useful everyday essential for families. It provides an additional layer of protection against moisture and spills, helping to keep your mattress in good condition.

Choose a protector specifically designed for a 140 x 70 cm cot bed mattress and ensure it fits securely without bunching or creating loose fabric. Follow the care instructions to keep it fresh and ready for use.
